ABOUT THE LAB

Palacios Lab is a research laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, led by Gustavo Palacios, PhD. We bring together virology, genomics, immunology, computational biology, and advanced experimental approaches to study emerging viral threats in depth. From their molecular characteristics and interactions with the host to the features that shape transmission, persistence, and disease.

About DOORs

Viruses depend on specific interactions with host cells to enter, replicate, evade immune defenses, and spread. DOORs is built on the idea that these essential host processes can be understood as cellular "doors," while the viral factors that exploit them act as "keys."
