Affiliations & Collaborations
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
The Palacios Lab is based at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, an academic medical and research institution with a strong ecosystem for infectious disease research, genomic science, clinical care, and translational innovation.
This institutional environment allows the lab to connect experimental and computational research with broader public health questions, supporting work that spans pathogen discovery, outbreak response, viral genomics, host–pathogen interactions, and the development of new approaches for preparedness.
Global Health and Emerging Pathogens Institute
The Palacios Lab is part of the Global Health and Emerging Pathogens Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. GHEPI brings together expertise in infectious diseases, emerging and re-emerging pathogens, molecular pathogenesis, host responses, surveillance, and therapeutic and prophylactic approaches.
This affiliation places the lab within a multidisciplinary network designed to improve the understanding and control of infectious diseases that threaten global health. Through GHEPI, the lab contributes to a broader scientific ecosystem focused on early detection, pathogen characterization, outbreak preparedness, and collaborative response.
